Made from Grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) and protected with a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating, our axles combine lightness, strength, mechanical precision, and exceptional wear resistance.
A Design Optimized for Performance
Unlike traditional caged bearings, our axles use an annular bearing system: the balls roll directly between the machined races on the axle and the bushings—no intermediate cages.
This design offers:
• A significant reduction in platform thickness
• A lower foot center of gravity
• A better rider-equipment connection for more direct power transfer
Grade 5 Titanium: Lightweight and Strong
The use of Ti6Al4V titanium allows weight savings without compromising strength:
• Up to 43% lighter than traditional CrMo steel
• High mechanical strength, even under load
• Excellent resistance to corrosion and fatigue
However, titanium is slightly softer than chrome steel when it comes to wear caused by bearing balls. That’s where our advanced solution comes in.
DLC Coating: Ultra-Hard Carbon Protection
To address the issue of premature wear, we apply a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating to the bearing races.
This high-performance surface treatment offers:
• A hardness of 2500 HV (Vickers) — close to diamond
• Exceptional wear resistance, even under high point loads
• A very low friction coefficient, reducing heat and mechanical losses
• A smooth, hard surface that significantly extends axle lifespan
The Result: Virtually Indestructible Axles
Thanks to the DLC coating, titanium axles retain their original precision and eliminate play caused by wear—even after thousands of kilometers.
